Program Highlights:

  • Community hospital setting in beautiful upstate New York!

  • 1-year program to prepare you for your next level of training, with core rotations in family medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and ICU

  • We can accommodate residents matched into PGY 2 for anesthesia, diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine,  PM&R, dermatology, osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal medicine, preventative medicine, and radiation oncology

  • We will have 8 residents per year (2 reserved for residents who match to our PGY 2 diagnostic radiology program, and 6 that we will match for)

  • Of note, Arnot GME will be converting from the 4 week block scheduling, to the monthly block scheduling starting July 1, 2023

  • ACLS and PALS training

Curriculum

Residents will attend family medicine or emergency medicine didactics, depending on which rotation they are on. Residents will also attend twice per month transitional year-specific didactics. Residents will have opportunities to participate in journal club, sim labs, board review cases, grand rounds.

 

During the admin rotation, residents will participate in administrative and scholarly activities.

Transitional Year Rotations

  • 1 block of outpatient pediatrics

  • 1 block of inpatient pediatrics

  • 2 blocks of inpatient family medicine

  • 1 block of emergency medicine

  • 1 block of ICU

  • 2 weeks family medicine night float/2 weeks admin

  • 6 blocks of electives

  • 20 PTO days per academic year, taken during elective blocks
